🚦 StarRyd Scooter Rental – Rental Policy
1. Scooter & Moped Use Regulations (Houston, TX)
By renting a vehicle from StarRyd Scooter Rental, you agree to operate it in accordance with Houston city laws and Texas state transportation code, including:

🚴♂️ Ride only on roads, bike lanes, and shared-use paths.

Riding on sidewalks in downtown Houston is prohibited.

🛑 Obey all traffic signals and stop signs.

👤 Minimum age to ride is 15 years old.

Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

🪖 Helmets are strongly recommended for all and required for anyone under 18.

🛵 Scooters are single-rider only.
Mopeds are 2-seater and allow one passenger. -
🚷 No riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

🅿️ Park responsibly — don’t block sidewalks, doorways, or driveways.
Violation of any rule may result in termination of your ride without refund.
2. Payment & Charges

All rides are paid in advance through our app or in-store.

Rental time begins once the scooter or moped is unlocked or handed off.

Riders are responsible for any damage, loss, or theft during their rental period.
3. Refund & Ride Credit Policy

No refunds will be given after payment.

If a customer decides not to ride before starting, and notifies staff immediately, they may receive ride credit for future use.

If a customer rides for 10 minutes or more, no refund or credit will be issued.

Credits are issued at the company's discretion only in valid cases (like malfunction, weather delays).
4. Weather, Safety & Liability

StarRyd may pause rentals during unsafe weather (e.g. flooding, storms).

Riders assume full responsibility for their safety, passengers, and vehicle condition.

StarRyd is not liable for injuries caused by misuse, negligence, or law violations.
5. Customer Agreement
By renting from StarRyd, you confirm that:

You are 15 years or older, or riding under a parent/guardian’s supervision.

You understand and accept this rental and refund policy.

You will follow all laws, safety rules, and treat equipment responsibly.
